carVertical making the right moves

What is carVertical? In the company’s own words:

World’s First Global & Decentralized Car History Registry Built on Blockchain

The company’s mildest goals for their ICO of soft and hard cap, 3050 and 15050 ETH resepectively, have been met ahead of scheduled crowd sale deadlines, and carVertical managed to roll out it’s token onto exchanges a whole month ahead of time, sealing the investors faith in the teams ability and comitment to the project. Although the present value of the token has dropped significantly from its initial price listing, I think we can all agree that this is not the most convenient of times for any ICO to release its tokens as the market still has not made up its mind on whether to maintain the bears or return to the bulls.

BUT…………I could go on and present the reader with the regular sleep inducing spiel, you most likely will have read in most of the articles published on carVertical. However, that is precisely not what I will do. Instead I will share a story with you, the story that has prompted me to make an investment in the company, and sealed my faith in the teams devotion to their project.

Prior to me even registering to the whitelist, I was in communication with one of their team members through the facebook messenger. Disregarding the fact that this was my very first ICO ever to participate in, I found pleasantly confusing the fact that these people were willing to engage me in a dialogue on a 1 to 1 level. I certainly wasn’t the only person they were comunicating with at the time, but that was precisely how I felt. I had my very own personal advisor on the team willing to answer any and all of my queries.

Right after signing up for the carVertical whitelist, I have received a series relatively personal e-mails from their CO-Founder Audrius Kucinskas, which I would like to share with my readers here. Rather than explaining what carVertical is, I would like to share with you the reasons for why it exists in the first place, in Audrius’ own words.

The e-mail’s are an exact copy and paste with some minor grammatical adjustments for reading consistency.

“If I survive this, I’ll find and k*ll that son of a b*tch with my own hands!”

These were my thoughts when I was lying with my arm broken and blood running through my left eye.

But it was a moment of peace, compared to regaining my consciouseness just a few seconds ago.

“Thomas? Thomas, are you here? Are you alright, son?”, a trembling voice was asking again and again.

At first, I didn’t even recognize this voice. It was me speaking to my 9-year-old son in the backseat.

“Thomas? Thomas?!” I desperately kept asking the silence. A good amount of time had passed before I realized there was no Thomas in the car this time.

To my biggest nightmare, Thomas was in the backseat last summer.

On that sunny day, my wife Diane suggested to drive to the sea and test the Range Rover I’d just purchased from a used car dealer.

The car was only three years old and in perfect condition (or so I thought.) I checked all the registries I could find, including paid ones, and I double-checked the car in a service run by my old acquaintance mechanic. The price was fair enough. Nothing caused any suspicion. I thought it was a great deal.

So we found ourselves riding the highway. Somebody wanted to piss, so we stopped at a gasoline station and… a banal wish to piss saved our lives!

At the exact same moment when Thomas, Diane and I got out of the car, a loud husky sound hit our ears.

I didn’t understand what happened initially, but then I looked at the front of the car.

There was no such thing as a front of the car anymore. Only some piece of metal crap rolled over the parking ground — it was completely broken down. Imagine if this had happen when I was driving at 140 km/h! My hands are still shaking while I’m writing about it now.

As police officers later told me, my Rover’s story wasn’t too original.

The first buyer in Poland crashed it so bad that it was officially discarded. After the accident, the insurance company made a pay-out to the owner, but instead of being sold to the garbage the Rover somehow landed in some underground “car workshop“.

These guys didn’t use conscience in their work. They used imagination. So, they simply welded two deadly damaged Range Rovers into one vehicle, then sold it to some dealer who resold it further.

Travelling from hand to hand, from country to country, this metallic Siamese twin lost all its “bad” logs and arrived to me “in perfect condition”.

What is more, I finally found out that Rover’s odometer had been clocked by 60,000 km! Can you f**king believe that?!

Anyway, time has come to move on. I needed a car. Again…

I didn’t want to risk anymore. Three saved lives were way too much. Therefore, I decided to buy vehicles only from authorized dealers. Even if they sell used cars, they should be concernd with the car historys reliability, guarantees and their reputation at least.

That Porsche Cayenne was red inside and outside. I fell in love with it at the first sight.

It wasn’t new, but it was sooo sexy! And almost new. Year and a half, only 18 thousand kilometers. The salesman swore to God it was real mileage. He was ready to die to convince me that his company had no data about any accidents with this car. Some wealthy daughter simply desired to get a newer model, so got rid of the “old” one.

Can you believe this shit? I was dumb enough to do it!

Were Cayenne’s breaking system damaged in a concealed car crash? Was the girl practicing some crazy DIY stuff with her vehicle? I haven’t learnt the reasons to this day. But I’ve quickly learned the very fact that rainy evening…

A black dog suddenly appeared from nowhere. I hit the brakes and I don’t remember what happened next.

When I opened my eyes, the steering-wheel was hanging above me. I was lying on my car’s ceiling.

I didn’t feel any pain. I felt only anger. A burning rage which was enough to crash the window with naked fingers of my broken arm.

“I’ll k*ll him! I’ll find and k*ll that son of the bitch!”

Here I lost consciousness again.

2ND E-MAIL

It was dark. The rain became heavier. The road wasn’t very popular. Not surprisingly, no cars were passing by.

It was a shame I was lying unconscious on the roadside with a broken arm, bleeding to death. About 20 minutes passed until good people drove by and stopped and called an ambulance.

But the biggest shame was that it was MY SECOND TIME! Just the previous story didn’t end up so dramatically.

Can you believe it could happen twice to the same man?

We anticipate that used car fraud is widespread, but we can’t imagine that the problem is SO BIG.

But it’s true. Believe me, I survived this.

I won this “lottery” despite I put all the efforts not to buy a “ticket”! Two times, damn it!

You can call me an idiot for the story with the Range Rover. But on the second time I bought my Porsche from an authorized dealer!

The salesman honestly swore his company had no data about any accidents with that car.

Yeah, you are right. He was the man I wanted to kill. I still desired to take away his life when I regained my consciousness in the hospital.

“I’ll kill you….” were the words the doctors heard from me instead of a “hello”.

“Only if I won’t kill you first!”, a surgeon made a joke while preparing for the surgery.

But wait a second…

Suddenly, a moment before the anesthesia started working, I realized a tiny, but very important detail.

Let’s read it once again.

Company. Has. No. Data.

It doesn’t mean there are no concealed accidents or other fraud…

It only means company doesn’t know, or pretends not to know, the car’s full history!

I was lucky enough not to forget this epiphany when I woke up in the hospital bed. My wonderful family was here. Surgery went well. Everything seemed to be fine.

“We won’t buy any cars no more. Ok, dad?” Thomas asked. Diane started crying.

I had plenty of time during my recovery. So, I started digging into the case of used cars and their histories.

Finally, I understood where my life was leading me to. I even understood why I had to experience two car crashes in a row.

The magical word was BLOCKCHAIN.

3RD E-MAIL

When I came up with this idea, I understood that it would require much effort to clean up the mess. But I was shocked when I discovered a real scale of lies and fraud in the car aftermarket.

For example, it is estimated that as much as 30% of European Union’s car fleet has clocked odometers. This means that the value of vehicles is often exaggerated, with buyers paying more for less.

Converted to euros, this represents a loss of about 10 billion EUR annually. Imagine what would be worldwide numbers! But at least people don’t buy car-killers…

Six out of ten used car owners claim they were defrauded by concealed major bugs or defects. More than a half! These stats probably include you, your relatives, friends and neighbors.

After an in-depth research, I concluded that the main issue is registries. Simply speaking, there are way too many of them. And they act as divorced lovers. That is, don’t “talk” to each other.

Car history is stored in various public and private databases, which tend to monopolize or even hide the information. What is more, private and centralized national registers are hardly sharing data with each other.

An average buyer isn’t capable of finding out everything. Therefore, you can only trust sellers.

But, even if they are honest, aftermarket car sellers can’t tell you an entire history of the car. If a vehicle has changed two or three owners and even a few countries, you’ll never learn all the details.

Here we are. In the grey zone where everybody has excuses to cheat you.

But I knew there is a solution. I just needed some time and a wonderful team of amazing professionals from different fields. Now we are proud to present to you a revolution.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you carVertical.

lt is a blockchain-based solution that gathers as much information as possible about cars’ history from different sources: centralized country registries, police and INTERPOL databases, insurance, leasing, claims handling service databases, privately owned registries, paid APIs, etc.

carVertical honestly gets all information and puts it into blockchain registry.

Here comes the sweetest thing. All data that’s in the blockchain registry cannot be changed, faked, rewritten or manipulated. It provides full transparency and builds trust.

And most importantly, all car’s history data becomes decentralized and publicly accessible. Sounds like Robin Hood stuff, doesn’t it? This is the key element why we chose to execute this project as a blockchain registry.

What does it mean in real life?

It means used car buyers can finally be sure they don’t pay money for fakes and corpses.

Any person or company who checks car’s data via carVertical can be 100% sure that no one manipulated its mileage, that all insured accidents are logged, and data about the car is as extensive as possible.

What does it mean to you? It means you can contribute in changing the world AND get some amazing perks.

But I’ll finish my story tomorrow. Wait for my mail and find out how you can be involved.

Audrius, Robin Hood of cars aftermarket

Are you interested how we’ll use this insane technology to revolutionise the used cars market?

Would you wish to learn more about a platform which someday will be worth +500 million EUR?

Read my email tomorrow!

I’m sure you’ll do…

Thanks,
Audrius, the survivor and inventor”

THE END OF E-MAILS

I know that it’s lenghty, which is probably why Audrius chose to share his story in three separate emails. Each one was followed by questions prompting me to find out more about the company as well as the technology behind it, including the technology of blockchain, which to me was still relatively new.

I believe in the team, because in its forefront, is an extremely pissed of SLAV, who possibly dodged death twice, and is now on a mission to make sure that neither he, nor anyone else has to go through similar experiences. The team drives towards their goals, fueled by personal experience and passion. They have a clear vision, which although relatively new, the team is working extremely hard at propelling forward at a stagering pace.

It is this kind of motivation and comitment I want to see in the people who hold my investment, because when times are tough they persevere purely on the need to face the demons from the past.

You can find all the necessary details on their carVertical WEBSITE, including the pretty pictures and most importantly, a thorough and clearly laid out WHITEPAPER here.

For any questions and suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact myself, or the cV team.

Disclamer: I am not being paid for this introduction in any way or form. The carVertical team has no idea I wrote this summary, and I hope Audrius Kucinskas will be ok with me including his e-mails here. (which I will inform the telegram admin of as soon as I post this)

PEACE!!! SAFE DRIVING!!!
